• Rental is for a minimum of 24 hours (one day).
  • The cost of rental is determined by the fees stipulated and 25% of the rental is payable in advance to secure the booking.
  • The remaining rental amount should be paid at the beginning of the rental and an adjustment be made at the end of the rental period in case of extension of the rental period.
  • Any extension of the period of rent can only be effected with the prior consent of Fairdeal Car Rental Ltd.
  • The prices are for unlimited mileage per day.
  • A full refund of the prepaid reservation will be made if the cancellation is made within 10 days of the original booking time.
  • In case the hirer makes any cancellation less than 10 days of the original booking time, the hirer will be charged 25% of the total reservation fee.
  • If at the time of the vehicle collection the hirer wish to rent a larger car or rent for a longer period, the hirer may do so, subject to availability and on payment of additional charges. Such charges may be at a higher rate than those previously quoted.
  • If the hirer fails to cancel its reservation prior to the Pick Up Time and do not collect the vehicle on the Pick Up Date and at the Pick Up Location, or if the hirer fail to comply with any of the conditions stated under this agreement, we reserve the right to charge a rental fee which recovers our administration costs and compensates us for our inability to rent the vehicle when it was reserved for your use.
  • Renter must be in possession of a valid drivers’s licence.
  • Payments can be done by Cash or accepted credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Maestro, American Express, Diners Club).
  • Cars are covered by a fully comprehensive insurance policy. In the unlikely event of an accident, the hirer is responsible for the first MUR 25,000/-.
  • Delivery and collection of vehicles available throughout the island.
  • Fuel is at the expense of the renter. A cost is applied in case fuel shows less petrol than on delivery. No refund for excess of fuel.
  • In addition to the payment specified above, the hirer acknowledges that they shall be liable at the end of the hire term to pay to the owner any applicable additional charges payable at the end of the term. These include, but are not limited to:
    a) a fee to cover additional services;
    b) charges for late return of the vehicle;
    c) charges for damage to or repair of the vehicle (subject to the other terms of the Rental Agreement) and any enforcement charges relating to such damage or repairs (including legal costs);
    d) charges for cleaning the vehicle’s interior if the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition that requires extra cleaning or deodorizing. This includes, but is not limited to, spillage of fluids, food, vomit, other stains, and unpleasant odours including cigarette smoke;
    e) traffic and/or parking offence infringement fees;
  • The owner will charge the amounts set out in above to the hirer’s account during or after the term of hire is completed, or the hirer may pay such charges as agreed with the owner, such choice to be at the owner’s sole discretion.
  • If the hirer fails to pay any money due under or in connection with the Rental Agreement within 7 days of the date by which the hirer was required to pay the money, the owner may, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies the owner may have or be entitled to, charge the hirer and the hirer must pay all additional costs as outlined below:
    a) interest at 10% (compounded daily) on the total amount owing from the expiry of 7 days from the date on which the hirer was required to pay the money to the date of payment;
    b) all costs incurred by the owner for the collection of the unpaid money by a debt collection agency or other external or legal agency; and
    c) an administration fee of MUR 2000.
  • Damage to tyres, rim and under carriage of cars are not covered by insurance and is therefore the responsibility of the hirer
  • In the case where client decides to return the car before collection scheduled date, no refund is made. Except in case of force majeure where client has to go back to his/her country. In that case proof should be submitted.
  • In the event that the renter requires a car for a longer period than the agreed rental period, the user must contact us by telephone at least 48 hours prior to the termination of the agreed rental period.
  • The renter is bound to comply with the law in force, regarding the road traffic regulations and accepts to take charge of any fine or expenses resulting from any infraction relating to those regulations.
  • Rental agreement signed by the owner and the renter is subject to and governed by the laws of Mauritius.
  • In case of accident/ theft, MUR 25,000 is borne by the customer. However, for minor damage, we charge only the estimated amount of damage.
  • In a collision where the customer is not at fault, the customer does not pay the excess. Damage of engine or loss of equipment such as tires, side mirrors and radio-cassette are not covered by insurance.
  • The client signs a lease binding him to take responsibility for the first Rs 25,000 in a collision at fault / vol. Request for any Deposit/Advance is at the discretion of our agency.
  • In case of breakdown, we intervene at the earliest possible time to troubleshoot and fix the problem or provide you with a replacement car or refund the entire amount remaining on your lease and also offering a free transfer to your hotel if we do not replace your vehicle immediately.
  • Any tire puncture repair or damage of the tires are at your expense. Understand that insurance is not made for damage to tires, this service is offered by our agency.
  • Fairdeal Car Rental Ltd does not cover:
    • Theft of clothes and other personal items.
    • Any driver who does not posses a valid driving licence;
    • Any driver under the influence of alcohol;
    • Any prolonged utilisation of the car without the consent of Fairdeal Car Rental Ltd and consequently for any accident that may be caused by the customer;
    • Any liability for injuries to third parties or accident the renter might cause if he has willingly and intentionally provided false information regarding his identity, his address and the validly of his driving licence.
  • Use of the car: In order to be covered by insurance, the customer shall not use the car:
    • For carrying passengers for a fee;
    • For unlawful purposes and for the transportation of goods;
    • For competitions, sports or otherwise;
    • For towing another vehicles;
    • To be driven by any driver but himself; and
    • To be driven by any person under the influence of alcohol.

 

  • Retrieval of the car:The customer shall not abandon the car in any circumstance whatsoever. In case of breakdown, the customer must immediately get in touch with the office of Fairdeal Car Rental Ltd.

 

  • Fairdeal Car Rental Ltd is in no way responsible for any accident or any injuries caused to any party which may be attributed to a defect of the car.

Jurisdiction:The contract is bound by the laws governing the country. In case of any dispute between the customer and Fairdeal Car Rental Ltd, all cost, commission & accessories expenses will be borne by the customer.
